Miscarriage Abortion

This bill has one purpose and one purpose only! When a woman in Iowa has a miscarriage - it will require the medical facility to put on her medical records that she had a "Miscarriage Abortion," INSTEAD of listing it as a "Spontaneous" or regular abortion.

Medical facilities currently have an option to put down that a woman had a spontaneous abortion when a woman has a miscarriage, but this is not always the case. Additionally, there have been times that the medical facility just puts down "abortion" with no other explanation.

Propose of this Bill?

There is a family in Northwest Iowa that was fighting their insurance for over a year because the mother's medical record stated "abortion" and not "spontaneous abortion." The insurance company refused to pay for their medical expenses.

My proposed bill will also require one of the parents, OR an immediate family member to sign off on person's medical records before for the mother is sent home.

Blocking the C02 Pipeline

I will do everything in my power to ensure that the CO2 Pipeline does not come to Iowa!

Instead, we as Iowans' need to utilize the same federal grants that are funding the CO2 pipeline, so that we can continue to use and build methylene plants onto every ethanol plant in the State of Iowa.

Why Block the Pipeline and propose this Bill?

The CO2 Pipeline would carry, CO2, an asphyxiant, from factories and plants hundreds, and even thousands of miles away, through a pipe on our soils to an underground geological storage site.

The physical properties of CO2 can cause pipelines to rupture like a zipper. When this happens, the CO2 that the pipe is carrying bursts into the air at uncontrolled levels, and even at points, can cause shrapnel to fly off of the pipe. This leaves Iowans with a tremendous hazard - especially leaving those who already experience chronic breathing conditions at a higher risk for breathing complications as CO2 disrupts the body's ability to process oxygen regularly, which can, in turn, cause suffocation.

Adding a methylene plant to every ethanol plant will cost roughly the same as the construction and implementation of the CO2 pipeline.

Methylene plants will give our state another source of revenue, and increase jobs in our rural communities.

Banning Legal Kidnapping in Iowa

I will be running a bill that prevents parents from being able to legally kidnap child(ren), to and from Iowa. This bill will also set provisions for concealing a child from the other parent.

Imagine you get home from work and find your ex-partner left you and moved out. You later find out that your child is now living with your ex-partner in another state. A few weeks later, you receive a letter informing you that the other parent filed for child support, and you are to appear in an Iowa Court of Law. Since your child does not live in Iowa any longer, the Iowa court can only establish child support and health insurance for your child. If this parent residing in Iowa ever wants to see their child again, they must go through whichever state their child lives in.

Imagine this happening to you! Imagine if you don't have the financial means to fight for your rights and see your child. Since you were never married, and you do NOT have any legal agreement, this practice is currently legal in Iowa. This happens every single day in Iowa, and we currently don't have any measures to prevent this!

I was personally informed by a Siouxland attorney that this happens everyday in Iowa and there is NOTHING they can do under current Iowa law.

Father's Right to ask for a DNA Test

I will be running a bill that enables both parents to request a DNA test.

Under current Iowa law, fathers are NOT allowed to ask the State of Iowa to perform a DNA test. Imagine you find out that you are NOT the biological father of your child and another male is. Under current Iowa law, the non-biological father can NOT ask the State of Iowa to subpoena the other male to a DNA test because he is not a woman, even though, he is the legal father of the child.

Education Funding

I will be running a bill to ensure that public schools are receiving adequate funding. Under my proposal, the state must provide at least 70% of an increase in funding based on the previous year's inflation rate.

We need to ensure that that PUBLIC EDUCATION is receiving adequate funding to educate future generations.

So, for example, in 2022, the inflation rate was 8% (according to tradingeconomics.com). The State of Iowa must then provide 5.6% of an increase in public education funding.

Strike the Iowa Code allowing Humanless Vessels

Strike the Iowa code allowing humanless vessels

I will be running a bill to remove "driverless-capable vehicles."

Iowa code currently allows driverless vehicles to operate on the Iowa's public highways without a conventional human driver physically present in the vehicle, if the vehicle meets all of the following conditions in Iowa Code 321.515.

We do NOT want any unmanned motorized vessel operating on our public roads without a licensed driver behind the wheel. It is our job to prevent human injury and human death.

Further reasons to disallow:

          1) Technology has NOT advanced enough to make driverless cars safe. Weather conditions such as fog and snow cause the lasers to misread the road. Also, the angle of the sun may cause cameras to misread traffic lights.

          2) The roads are not up to par. The sensors in these vehicles have to be able to read the road, and our current infrastructure is not currently at a point to support widespread use of humanless vehicles, according to the Federal Highway Administration.

          3) Severe crashes have raised questions as to how safe driverless vehicles are.

          4) A majority of drivers fear the implementation of automation.

          5) No amount of technology can replace human thinking and ability to react to real-life situations.

Medicaid Funding

I will be running a bill to INCREASE Medicaid spending from the current rate of $0.21 to $0.65 out of every dollar.

Currently, the State of Iowa only funds $0.21 out of every dollar for medical coverage for Medicaid. This causes a huge problem for accessible healthcare in the State of Iowa.

Grandparent Visitation

I will be running a bill to ensure that grandparents are able to spend time with their grandchildren.

Imagine that your child died due to cancer, or an accident. When your child was alive, you saw your grandchildren often, but after your child's death, that drastically changes.

This bill ensures that grandparents have the opportunity to have a relationship with their grandchildren if their child passes.

DHS Reform

I will be running a bill to cut some of the RED tape that has, and still is, affecting thousands of Iowans every single day!

Iowa DHS has, and is currently NOT doing their job to protect thousands of children across the state, in some cases.
